Given what hsppened in Billic's time re rescinded red cards and now, you could almost be forgiven for thinking there was some kind of plot to keep us from getting to the top table

So that's 2 rescinded in the last month? What's the total rescinded for all other clubs combined on the season I wonder?

Did it affect the result? Probably not but no one will ever fucking know because kavanaugh had to insert himself where it was completely unnecessary and tie an arm behind our backs.

Re: West Ham launch red card appeal - Balbuena - rescinded
Is it not about time that refs faced consequences for their actions? If a red is issued and rescinded that ref spends the next month officiating Nat League games - and also the clown at VAR if they were the primary reason a red card was issued.

Also, long overdue for some organisation to carry out a statistical analysis of refs performances (cards at least) by team. And publish it every week.

Or go one step further, Zico. Get the Appeals Panel to ref the games. Sorted!

Quite right. No idea how that could have been a red.

Re: West Ham launch red card appeal - Balbuena - rescinded
This is great news.

Refs and VAR are becoming more discredited with each game that passes it seems
Shame really as that can only be undermining them.in what can't be an easy job

Re: West Ham launch red card appeal - Balbuena - rescinded
I don't know why they don't just put the Appeals Panel in Stockley Park, considering they seem to be getting more decisions right than the Officials!

Can the panel still give respective reds? In a situation that isn't "clear and obvious and the Referee isn't 100% then surely there is an option for this?

The VAR official who told the ref to look at the incident is Peter Bankes from Bootle so probably a Liverpool fan, I wonder who he wants to get the 4th CL place!
5 rescinded red cards put of course we can never get the points back, the refs/FA/Premier league do everything they can to make sure the "big" 6 finish in the top positions

Re: West Ham launch red card appeal - Balbuena - rescinded
The refereeing situation needs to be seriously addressed. It's very much a them (footballers) and us (refs). It almost seems that refs enjoy dishing out cards.

In rugby, a good ref doesn't want to penalise anyone. His responsibility is to let the game flow whilst ensuring fair play. He'll speak to the captains all through the game, managing any overt foul play. They don't hide behind walls of silence, either.

Refs should work with the players, instead of against them. There should be a mutual respect.

Or maintaining the pretence they know what they are doing and don't need to explain themselves.

Re: West Ham launch red card appeal - Balbuena - rescinded
At the very least tell the crowd/TV audience how and why the final decision has been made (NFL, Rugby Union and cricket show how this should be done).
It is treating the audience like children.

Re: West Ham launch red card appeal - Balbuena - rescinded
When VAR first came in the guidence was that it was their to correct clear and obvious errors by the on-pitch officials which the EPL decided not to follow by deciding whether someone's index finger was offside, reinterpreting handballs and now doing this not flagging for blatant offside idea.
It is a good idea but has been implemented incompetently.

Re: West Ham launch red card appeal - Balbuena - rescinded
What I don't get is when the ref went over to the screen he must have already decided it was a red card due to the guy in his ear telling him to send our player off.

So why bother going over to the screen if your not got to make your own decision.

SurfaceAgentX2Zero 11:34 Tue Apr 27
Re: West Ham launch red card appeal - Balbuena - rescinded
So the referee makes the correct decision and VAR calls him over to reverse it in the worst example yet of a bad VAR decision. A decision so obviously bonkers that it is immediately overturned.

You couldn't make it up.

I'd love to know why Peter Wankes reviewed Balbuena's follow through 17,000,000 times, but barely bothered with Azpilacueta's hand ball.

I love the way you left off everything I posted before the word ‘but’.
